Session 8: The Shifting Maze and the Xenian Gate
After discovering incriminating blueprints and a list of druids targeted for their 'sage blood' at Alice’s house, the party trekked through an unnaturally overgrown forest toward the village of Shizuku. Along the way, they were trapped in a magical maze fueled by Acrum, where Frolo began losing precious memories of Alice and tensions boiled over into a brief, magically-induced confrontation between Frolo and Frobias. After defeating a wyvern and being guided out of the woods by Mr. Squirrel, the party reached a silent, starving Shizuku.
In the village, they found a mansion mirroring Thane Morten's mansion in the Siren's Shroud forest and rescued Ibrahim, the local baker, who revealed the village had been blockaded by 'frog people.' Investigating the mansion, the party uncovered a dark conspiracy involving the 'Xenian Gate,' human experimentation, and the aftermath of ethnic cleansing in Elmo’s homeland, the Voregean Coast. The session ended in a high-stakes standoff as the RBI, led by Anura Grevious, surrounded the house just as the Xenian Gate began to crack open, leaking a dark miasma.
